Given : A 120 volt toaster has a resistance of 12

To Find : What must be the minimum rating of fuse in the electric circuit to which the toaster is connected.

Solution:

Voltage = 120 V

Resistance = 12 Ω

Current I = V/R

=> I = 120/12

=> I = 10 A

Rated current = 10A

minimum rating of fuse in the electric circuit is generally 125 % of rated current

Hence  minimum rating of fuse  = (125/100)10 = 12.5 A

minimum rating of fuse in the electric circuit = 12.5 A

Generally 13A fuse are available in market so 13A fuse rating can be used

\sf\red{Given:-}

  • Volt = 120

  • Resistance = 12 Ω

\sf\red{Find:-}

  • What must be the minimum rating of fuse in the electric circuit to which the toaster is connected

\sf\red{Solution:-}

Formula of finding minimum current :

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \tt\bullet{ \: 1 =  \frac{v}{r}}

So,

 \longmapsto \tt{i =  \frac{120}{12} }

 \longmapsto \tt{i =  \frac{10}{1} }

\longmapsto\tt\fbox{ 10 A}

❝ So , the current rated is 10 A. ❞
