Given : 120° angle is in standard position

To Find : x-coordinate and y-coordinate of the point at which the terminal side intersects the unit circle

Solution:

Assuming center is at origin

Hence x² + y² = 1²

r = 1

α = 120°

x coordinate =  rCosα

y coordinate =  rSinα

x coordinate =1 * Cos120°  =   = - 1/2

y coordinate =  1 * Sin 120°  = √3/2

x-coordinate and y-coordinate of the point at which the terminal side intersects the unit circle  =  ( - 1/2 ,  √3/2 )
