A 12HP MOTOR HAS TO BE OPERATED 8 HOURS PER DAY.  HOW MUCH IT COST AT THE RATE OF 50 PAISE PER KWH IN 10 DAYS

12HP = 745.7×12 = 8948.4 W = 8.9484 kW 
If it used 8 hours a day, energy consumed by it per day
= 8.9484 kW × 8h = 71.59 kWh

Total energy consumed in 10 days = 10×71.59 kWh  =715.9 kWh
cost = Rs. 0.50 per kWh
total cost = 715.9 × 0.50 = Rs. 357.94 ~ Rs. 358

12 horse power=12 x 746 watts=8952 watt=8.952 kilowatts      energy consumed=power in watts x time in hours/1000     soenergy consumed=8952 x8/1000=71.616 units or 71.616 kw since its used for 10 days ,energy consumed=71.616 x 10=716.16 units   cost of 1 unit=5o ps so cost of 716.16 units=Rs 358.08
