A 13 m long ladder leans against a wall such that its foot lies 12m away from ground. Find the height at which its top touches the wall. If the ladder is pushed such that foot is just 5m away, find the height reached by top of ladder on wall.

Answer:

This can be done by Pythagoras theorem

Step-by-step explanation:

Here,

Base= 12cm

Hypotenuse=13cm

Therefore, Side² = Hypotenuse ² - Base²

=13²-12²

=169 - 144

=25

Side = √25=5 cm

Therefore Height= 5cm

For 2nd case , Hypotenuse= 13 cm

Base = 5cm

(By using the same process we will get side i.e Height= 12cm)

Hope this will help
