m angle ACB=90°
By Pythagoras theorem,
AC^2=AB^2+BC^2
12^2=13^2+BC^2
144=169+BC^2
144-169=BC^2
-25=BC^2
BC=-5 or BC=5
But distance cannot be negative
Therefore BC=-5 is not applicable
Therefore BC=5
Distance between the wall and ladder is 5m
