a) He is suffering from Myopia

b) See attachment

c) Concave lens is used to correct Myopia.

  • Myopia means short-sightedness.
  • People suffering from myopia cannot see distant objects.
  • When we see an object, light after reflection from that object enters our eye through, firstly through the cornea, secondly it passes through the lens which helps in focussing the light, and lastly through the retina on which light is focussed for a clear image.
  • Myopia is a refractive error, where the light coming from a distant image is focussed in front of the retina, instead of on the retina.
  • This can be due to increased curvature of the cornea or lens.
  • It can also be due to increased axial length of the eye, which in turn increases the converging power.
  • Myopia can also occur due to increasing refractive index of the eye.
  • It can also be due to anterior displacement of the lens in trauma.
