Given: A 15% increase in the school fee of a class is Rs120.

We have to find the original fee for the class.

For this, we will assume the original fee asxRs. and then simplify the equation.

As we know that a 15% increase in the school fee is Rs120.

We are solving in the following way:

Let assume the original fee of the class will bex.

=>x\times\frac{15}{100} =120\\\\=>x=\frac{120\times100}{15} \\\\=>x=800

We get x=800Rs.

Hence, the original fee of the class will be800rs.

To find : original fee of school .

Given :  15\ \% increase in the school fee of a class is Rs 120.

Solution :

  • Let x be the original school fees.
  • Then according to given condition we write as-

                     15\ \% \ x = 120

  • As we know percentage is expressed in term of fraction of 100

       hence we write ,  \frac{15}{100}\times x= 120

  • leaving variable x at LHS and transfering constants we get,

                                       x = \frac{12000}{15}

  • On dividing we get x = 800

      Hence , original fees of school is Rs \ 800.
