Explanation:

What we know:

A. 19 = apples + basket

And we know:

B. 10 = apples*0.5 + basket

Subtracting apples from both sides of A we can get a value for basket:

19-apples = apples + basket - apples

basket = 19-apples

So we can then substitute that 19-apples into B:

10=apples*0.5 + 19-apples

10=19 - apples + 0.5apples

10-10=19-10-apples+0.5apples

0=9-0.5apples

9=0.5apples

2*9=2*0.5apples

apples = 18

So back up at A we have:

19 = 18 + basket

basket= 1

The potential energy of an apple is 6.00 joules. The apple is 3.00-meters high.

What is the mass of the apple?

PE= mgh 6 J= (3m) (9.8 m/s2) (__m) m= 0.20 Kg.

Hope it helps you :)
