Step-by-step explanation:

Here

considering a straight wall = 12m

is the height or perpendicular

and the length of the ladder after leaning becomes

hypotenuse= 15m

Now,

according to Pythagoras

H²=P²+B²

(15m)²=(12m)²+q²

q= √225m²-144m²

=√81m²

= 9m
