The train will take 6 minutes.

Given data :

Train's length = 1500 m

Platform's length = 2500 m

Train's speed = 40km/hr

So,

The total distance that the train needs to cover in order to cross that platform = ( Length of the train + Length of the platform)

= (1500+2500)m = 4000 m

The train,

Covers 40 km in = 1 hour

Or, 40000 m in = 60 minutes

1 m in = 60/40000 minutes

4000 m in = 60×4000/ 40000 = 6 minutes.

The train will cross that platform in 6 minutes. (Answer)
