the answer is
 \sqrt{ {15}^{2} - {12}^{2} } = 9
since it form a right angle triangle

Length of the ladder = 15m

Height of the window = 12m

The height of the window and the distance from the foot of the ladder to the wall forms a right angle, therefore we can use Pythagoras' Theorem to find the distance.

Define x:

Let x be the distance to be found.

a² + b² = c²

12² + x² = 15²

x² = 15² - 12²

x² = 81

x = √81

x = 9m

Answer: The distance between the foot of the ladder and the wall is 9 m.
