A 180 metre long train is moving due north at a speed of 25 m/s. A small bird is flying due south, a little above the train, with a speed of 5 m/s. The time taken by the bird to cross the train is​

Speed of the flying due to south 5m/s

Here, both the bodies are moving towards each other.

So, the relative speed is –

= sum of thier speed

= 25 + 5

= 30m/s

Now, time taken by the bird to cross the the train is given by :–

= distance/speed

Where, the distance will be the length of the train i.e., 180metres and speed is 30m/s

So,

= 180/30

= 6 seconds

Speed = Distance/Time
