Answer:

( {a - 2})^{2} - 3a = (a - 3) ^{2}  \\  \\  =  >  {a}^{2}  - 2 \times a \times 2 +  {2}^{2}  - 3a = (a - 3) ^{2}  \\  \\  =  >  {a}^{2}  - 4a + 4 - 3a = (a - 3) ^{2}  \\  \\  =  >  {a}^{2}  - 7a + 4 =  {a}^{2}  - 2 \times a \times 3 +  {3}^{2}  \\  \\  =  >  {a}^{2}  - 7a + 4 =  {a}^{2}  - 6a + 9 \\  \\  =  >  {a}^{2}  -  {a}^{2}  - 7a + 6a + 4 - 9 = 0 \\  \\  =  >  - a - 5 = 0 \\  \\  =  >  - (a + 5) = 0 \\  \\  =  > a + 5 = 0 \\  \\  =  > a =  - 5 \\  \\ formula \: used \\  \\ (a - b) ^{2}  =  {a}^{2}  - 2ab +  {b}^{2}
