Given: A(1,3)≡(x 1 ,y 1 ) and B(4,6)≡(x 2 ,y 2 )

Let the point C divides the line segment AB in the ratio 1:2

that if a point C (x,y) divides thel line segment AB

joining the points A(x )

(1 ,y1 )&B(x 2,y 2)

⇒  C=( m+n/mx )

2 +nx 1 , m+n

(2 +n 1 ) =( 1+2)

(1)(4)+(2)(1),1+2

(1)(7)+(2)(−2)=( 36 , 33 ) =(2,1)
