Given :-
- A = {2,5,7,8,9,} and B = {7,8,10,11}
To Find :-
- A ∆ B = ?
Solution :-
we know that,
- A - B = The set of all elements which are in A only but not in B . { Elements belongs to A only .}
- B - A = The set of all elements which are in B only but not in A . { Elements belongs to B only .}
- A ∆ B = (A - B) U (B - A) {The set of all elements belongs to A and B but not in both .}
so,
→ A = {2,5,7,8,9,}
→ B = {7,8,10,11}
then,
→ A - B = {2, 5, 9}
and,
→ B - A = {10, 11}
therefore,
→ A ∆ B = (A - B) U (B - A)
→ A ∆ B = {2 , 5 , 9} U {10 , 11}
→ A ∆ B = {2, 5, 9, 10, 11} (Ans.)
