Here's the Factorisation:

 {a}^{2} -  {b}^{2}   - a - b \\  \\  = (a - b)(a + b) - (a + b) \\  \\  = (a + b)((a - b) - 1)) \\  \\  = (a + b)(a - b - 1)

Thus factorized

Answer:

Answer:

Given:

a² - b²-a - b

Solving Question:

  •  We are given the expression ,which we have to factorise.

Solution:

  •  a^2-b^2-a-b

Recall the identity : a² - b² = (a+b)(a-b)

(a +b)(a-b) -1(a+b) = 0

Take out (a+b)

(a+b) [ a-b-1] = 0

a + b = 0

or, a-b = 1

let's find the values

a-b = 1

a + b = 0

......................

2a = 1

a = 1/2

a - b = 1

1/2 - b = 1

-b = 1/2

b = -1/2

Hence, the value of a = 1/2 and b = -1/2
