A 2 kg body is sliding up an inclined plane of inclination 30°. Find the work done by the force of gravity in moving the body through 1 m.

Work done is given by the formula:

W=Fdcos(90−θ)

As the angle between force and direction of displacement=90−θ

Therefore W=mg×d sinθ=mg×d sin300=2×10×1×12=10J
