 a=\frac{2^{x-1}}{2^{x-2}}    = 2^{x-1-x+2} =2

 b=\frac{2^{-x}}{2^{x+1}}    = 2^{-x-x-1} =2^{-2x -1}

∴a-b =0

=>a=b

=> 2=2^{-2x-1}

=>1= -2x-1

=>x= -1
