We know, in a series combination of electrical appliances, the equivalent resistance is equal to the some of all the resistances of the appliances.

R1=20 ohm

R2=5ohm

R=R1+R2

R=20+5

R=25 ohm

Hence, the equivalent resistance is 25 ohm.
