A 200 g of solution was prepared by dissolving 40 g of solute in the solvent.Find the amount of solvent and concentration of a solution.

160 g of solvent. and concentration of solution=20%

solution=solute+solvent

  1. solvent= solution-solute
  2. solvent= 200g-40g

solvent=160g

mass by mass percentage of solution

= mass of solute/mass of solution×100

  • 40/200×100=20%

so concentration of solution=20%
