Given

Two bulbs are 200 W and 100 W

both the bulbs  are connected to a - 220 V supply in series

both of them are working at - 220v supply

To find

The power consumed by both of them?

Solution

This can be solved by using the equation for power -

The solution to this question is as follows

Ps = \frac{P1P2}{P1+P2}----------------- Equation 1

  • We know that P1=200w
  • And P2=100w

Ps= \frac{200*100}{200+100} ------ equation 2

Ps =    \frac{20000}{200+100}

Ps = \frac{20000}{300}

Ps = \frac{200}{3}

Ps = 67watts

So we get the power consumed by the bulbs = 67watts
