Answer:

The required time taken is 60 sec

Explanation:

Given :

A 200 m long train crosses a 400 m bridge with a velocity of 36 km/hr

To find :

the time taken

Solution :

We know,

 1 km/h = 5/18 m/s

⇒ 36 km/h = 36 × 5/18 m/s = 10 m/s

∴ The velocity of the train is 10 m/s

The length of the train = 200 m

The length of the bridge = 400 m

Total distance travelled by the train = length of the train + length of the bridge

  = 200 m + 400 m

  = 600 m

Let 't' be the required time taken

Speed = distance covered/time taken

 10 m/s = 600 m/t

 t = 600/10

 t = 60 sec

Therefore, the required time taken is 60 sec or 1 min.

Answer:

60 seconds

Explanation:

Velocity = 36km/hr = 10m/sec

total distance travelled to cross the bridge = 200m +400m = 600m

speed = distance / time

time = distance / speed

       = 600m /10ms-1

      = 60 seconds
