Here is your solution :-

1 = The height of the shadow cast by a tree 9m and 50 cm high?

solution :- Height of the tank = 23m 75cm = 23 + 75/100 = 23.75m

Length of the shadow of the tank = 29m

Height of the tree = 9m + 50/100 = 9.5m

Let the length of the shadow of tree be x

so, According to the question

23.75 / 29 = 9.5 / x

x = 9.5 × 23 / 23.75

x = 9.2

Hence, the length of the shadow of tree is 9.2m

2 = The height of the tree if length of shadow is 12m?

solution :- Given,

Height of the water tank = 23m 75cm

= 23 3/4m = 95/4 m

Length of its shadow = 20m

Let the height of the tree be x and it's Shadow is 12m.

so,

95/4 : x :: 20 : 12

=> 95/4 x = 20/12

=> 4x = 95 × 12 / 20

=> 4x = 1140 ÷ 20

=> 4x = 57

=> x = 57 / 4m

=> x = 14m and 25cm

Hence, height of the tree is 14m and 25cm.
