Answer:

The foot of ladder slides from 7m to 15 m from the wall and the magnitude if slide is 8m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Problem:

A 25 cm long ladder is placed against a vertical wall such that the foot of the ladder is 7 cm from the feet of the wall . If the top of the ladder slides down by 4 m , by how much distance will the foot of the ladder slide.

Solution:

To Find

How much distance will the foot of the ladder slide?

According to your question:

It form a right angled triangle,

Which,

Base=7

Hypotenuse =25

So,we have to apply Pythagoras theorem,

After apply vertical will be,

P =√(25² - 7²)

P = √625 - 49)

P = √576

P = 24

Now,we have to reduce the hieght of vertical 24-4 =20 as the ladder slips.

Hypotenuse is same  25 , P=20

New Base,

B =√(25² - 20²)

B = √625 - 400

B = √225

B = 15

----------------------------------------

So, the foot of ladder slides from 7m to 15 m from the wall and the magnitude if slide is 8m.
