A 25kg box is pulled at a constant speed by a horizontal force on a horizontal floor .The coefficient of sliding friction between the box and the floor is 0.20.How much wor
k is done in pulling the box through 20m?

Work = force * displacement cos theta

To find force

Since the body is not accelerating then force applied is overcoming the force of friction

Force of friction = coefficient of friction*normal reaction. = 0.2 * mg

= 0.2 * 25*10 = 50 N

Force X displacement = 50N * 20 m= 1000 J

➧ Work = force × displacement cosθ

➧ Force of friction =
Coefficient of friction × normal reaction
➾ 0.2 × mg

➾ 0.2 × 25 × 10
➾ 50 N

➧ Force × displacement

➾ 50N × 20 m
➾ 1000 J ...✔
