A 26 m long ladder leans against a wall. If the top of the ladder touches the wall 24 m
above the ground, find the distance between the foot of the ladder and foot of the wall

24 m = is the distance above the ground surface. i.e. b/w top of the wall and foot of the ground.

b/w foot of the ladder and foot of the ground = ?

so here by using pythagoras theorem you can say

AB^2 = BC^2 + AC^2

26^2 = 24^2 + AC^2

AC^2 = 676 - 576

AC^2 = 100

so,

AC = 10 m
