Let AB be the ladder and BC be the wall.

∵ the length of AB = 29 meter

and the length of BC = 21 meter

By Pythagoras Theorem :

In ΔABC, ∠C = 90°

(AB)² = (BC)² + y²

(29)² = (21)² + y²

y² = 29² - 21²

y² = 841 - 441 = 400

y = √400 = 20 m
