=> Distance between pole and object = u

= - 32 cm

=> Distance between pole and image = v

=> Focal length of concave mirror = f

=> Magnification of concave mirror = -hi/ho = -v/u

  • Calculation :

=> Magnification = -hi/ho = -(-3)/2 = 1.5

=> Magnification = -v/u = 1.5

-v = 1.5 * 32

v = -48 cm

=> Mirror formula 1/f = 1/u + 1/v

1/f = -1/32 - 1/48

1/f = -80/1536

f = -19.2 cm

  • Answer :

Position of image (v) = -48 cm

Focal length (f) = -19.2 cm
