Given :

Mass of the body = 2kg

Radius of circule = 50cm = 0.5m

Angular acceleration = 2.5 rad/s²

To Find :

Torque acting on the body.

Solution :

❖ Torque is measured as the product of moment of inertia and angular acceleration.

Therefore first of all we have to find moment of inertia of the body.

  • Moment of inertia of a body of mass m rotating in a circle of radius r is given by, I = mr²

By substituting the given values;

➠ I = m r²

➠ I = 2 × (0.5)²

➠ I = 2 × 0.25

I = 0.5 kg m²

Torque acting on the body :

➙ τ = I α

➙ τ = 0.5 × 2.5

τ = 1.25 N m

Answer:

Data:

Mass=m=2kg

Radius=r=50cm=0.5m

Angular acceleration=a=2.5rad/s2

To Find:

Torque=t=?

Explanation:

I=mr2

Putting values.

I=2(0.5)2

I=0.5...(1)

NOW

T=Ia

T=0.5(2.5)

T=1.25...ANSWER
