Maximum tension (Tmax) = 400N

The maximum tension acts as the centripetal force for the circular motion of the stone. 

Let vmax be the maximum velocity. 

Hence, F=Tmax=rmvmax2

⇒vmax2=mTmax×r

⇒vmax=mTmax×r

⇒vmax=2400×2

⇒vmax=20ms−1
