Given : A 3.0-kg object is initially at rest. It then receives an impulse of magnitude 15 N.s.

To Find : After the impulse, the object has

Solution:

p = change in momentum

Δv = change in velocity

m = mass of the object

Impulse =  F Δ t

Δ p = FΔ t = mΔv

mΔv = 15

initial momentum was zero as at rest

Hence  Momentum of  magnitude 15 kg.m/s

mΔv = 15

m = 3 kg

=> 3Δv = 15

=> Δv = 5 m/s

Object has speed of  5 m/s

 a momentum of magnitude 15 kg.m/s is the correct option

Answer:

p = change in momentum

Av = change in velocity = FAt

m = mass of the object

Impulse A p = FA t = mAv

m*Delta * v = 15

initial momentum was zero as at rest Hence Momentum of magnitude 15 kg.m/s

m*Delta * v = 15

m = 3 kg

=> 3Δν = 15

=> Av = 5 m/s

Object has speed of 5 m/s

a momentum of magnitude 15 kg.m/s is

the correct option..
