We want 4 as denominator so we will have to multiply the denominator with a certain number by which we should multiply the numerator too.

So,

 \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{3 \times x}{4 \times x}  =  \frac{3x}{20}

Now let's focus on denominator....

4 \times x = 20 \\ =  =  >  x =  \frac{20}{4}    \\  =  =  > x =  \dfrac{\cancel{20}} {\cancel{4}}  \\  =  =  > x = 5

So we will have to multiply numerator & denominator by 5

So,

 \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{3 \times 5}{4 \times 5}  =  \frac{15}{20}
