A 3.7 g sample of copper(II) carbonate is added to 25 cm^3 of 2.0 mol dm^-3 hydrochloric acid. Which volume of gas is produce under room conditions?

A. 0.60 dm^-3
B. 0.72 dm^-3
C. 1.20 dm^-3
D. 2.40 dm^-3

Please help, I keep getting the answer as B but it’s wrong.

Explanation: CuCO3 + 2HCl 一> CuCl2 + CO2 + H2O

nHCl= C×V = 25 × 10^-3 × 2 = 0.05 mol

nCO2 = 1/2 × 0.05 = 0.25 mol

VCO2 = n × 24 = 0.25 × 24 = 0.60 dm^3
