Suppose I don't know above formula and I want the formula of a^3+b^3.

Then how can one approach?

Everyone can expand this (a+b)^3.

You can simply do this

(a+b)^3=(a+b)*(a+b)*(a+b).

i. e. (a+b)^3 = a^3 + b^3 + 3a^2b + 3ab^2

=> (a+b)^3 = a^3 + b^3 + 3ab(a+b)

Now, on little simplification

=>(a+b)^3 - 3ab(a+b) = a^3 + b^3

So, our formula for a^3+b^3 is

(a+b)^3 - 3ab(a+b)

i.e. a^3+b^3= (a+b)^3 - 3ab(a+b)

On taking common as (a+b) in RHS

So, (a + b)(a^2 - ab + b^2).
