A=3 b=5 a*b=? What's the value of a *b

(a+b)² = a² + b² + 2ab
(3+5)² = 3² + 5² + 2ab
8² = 9 + 25 + 2ab
64 = 34 + 2ab
64 - 34 = 2ab
30 = 2ab
30 / 2 = ab
15 = ab
therefore the value of ab is 15
