Let ABCD be the given park.
Then ABCD is the inside of path and EFGH is the outside of path.
also PA = DQ = DR = CS = 3 m (width of path)
Now EH = PQ = PA + AD + DQ = 3 m + 125 m + 3 m = 131 m
and HG = RD + DC + CS = 3m + 65 m + 3 m = 71 m
we know that area of rectangle = Length × breadth
⇒ Area of garden (ABCD) = AD × DC = 125 m × 65 m = 8125 m2
and Area of EFGH = EH × HG = 131 m × 71 m = 9301 m2
Hence area of path = Area of EFGH – Area of ABCD
= 9301 m2 – 8125 m2 = 1176 m2
