A 3-phase, 12-pole alternator has a star connected winding with 72 slots and there are 10 conductors per slot. The conductors of each phase are connected in series. The value of sinusoidally distributed flux per pole is O.49 Wb. Assume coil span as 150 degree electrical. If the speed of the Alternator is 600 rpm, calculate the frequency, the phase e.m.f and the line e.m.f. Would it be acceptable if you speed up the Alternator to 649 rpm or speed down the Alternator to 549 rpm?
