Given : 3 striped flag is formed with 8 different colours

no two adjacent stripes in a flag should have same colour.

To Find : Find the probability

Solution:

Total number of selection = 8 * 8 * 8

no two adjacent stripes in a flag should have same colour.

Middle strip can be selected in 8 ways

other two strips can be selected in 7 ways

Total number of ways if no two adjacent stripes in a flag should have same colour.= 8 * 7 * 7

Probability =  8 * 7 * 7  / 8 * 8 * 8

= 49/64

49/64 is the probability that no two adjacent stripes in a flag should have same colour.
