Solution:

Actual length of chain = 30 - 0.1 = 29.9m

True length of chain(L) x True length of distance(l) = wrong length of chain(L') x wrong length of distance (l')

             30  x  True length of distance = 29.9 x 300

                       True length of distance = 29.9 /30 x 300 = 299 m
