thus ,as the length is twice the width ,

length=2×width=2×( x)

hence length=2x

now fencing a plot basically means to cover the perimeter of the plot with wire

and the formula for perimeter=2(l+b)

hence here 2(l+b)= 2(2x+x). { since length=2x and width=x as per assumption}

:. 2(2x+x)= 300( perimeter as given in the question)

:. 2(3x)= 300

:.6x= 300

:. x= 300\6

:.x = 50 m

hence the width of the plot is 50m , now length = 2× width

:. length = 2× 50

:. length= 100m
