A 3000kg truck moving at speed of 72km/h stops after covering some distance.The force applied by brakes is 24000N. Compute the distance covered and work done by this force.

force = mass×acceleration
so 24000N =3000kg ×a
so acceleration=24000÷3000 =8m/s2
now speed(v)=72km/h=4m/s
now we know :
v2= u2 +2as
so 4×4=0+2 ×8×s
16=0+16s
so s=1metre
now work done =fs
=24000N×1m
=24000joules
