Given: The length of the ruler is 30cm.

And the ruler is broken into two parts in the ratio8:7.

We have to find the length of each part of the broken ruler.

We are solving in the following way:

Since the ratio of 8:7 gives 15 parts,

So,

The length of the first part of the ruler is:

=>\frac{8}{15} \times 30\\\\=>\frac{240}{15}

Solving the above equation further we get,

=>16cm.

And the length of the second part of the ruler is:

=>\frac{7}{15} \times 30\\\\=>\frac{210}{15}

Solving the above equation further we get,

=>14cm.

Hence, the length of each part of the broken ruler will be 16cm. and 14cm.
