A 30g bullet initially travelling at 500m/s penetrates 12 CM a wooden block.What average force does it exert?

Solution:

From work - energy theorem

According to the question —

 \sf \implies \: f =  \frac{m {v}^{2} }{2s }  \\  \\  \sf \implies \: f =  \frac{30 \times  {10}^{ - 3} \times  {(500)}^{2}  }{2 \times 12 \times  {10}^{ - 2} } \\  \\  \sf \implies \: f = 31250 \: newton

Hence,Average force will be 31250 N.
