It is known that atom contain protons, neutrons and electrons. If the mass of neutron is assumed to half
of its original value where as that of proton is assumed to be twice of its original value then the atomic
mass of 'c will be
(A) same

Answer:

2x

Explanation:

if x=neutron

we know that

proton is assumed to be twice the neutron equals to 2x

Lets take the example of Helium,

No. of neutrons in Helium = 2

No. of protons in Helium = 2

Mass number = 2+2 = 4

So, according to your question we will half the mass of the neutrons,

we take the neutrons mass 1amu so half will be 0.5 amu

mass of two neutrons will be, 0.5+0.5=1 amu

and if we double the mass of proton, we take mass of 1 proton to be 1amu,

so, mass of two protons will be 2+2 = 4amu

the total mass of the Helium atom will be 4+1 = 5 amu

so, the mass increases nt remains the same
