According to the question,

The line segment is divided into two parts, whose ratio is given - 4:3

Let one be 4x cm

and

another be 3x cm

So,

as both are from 35 cm line segment,

then their sum will be 35 cm

⇒ 4x + 3x = 35

⇒ 7x = 35

⇒ x = 35 ÷ 7

⇒ x = 5

∴ value of x = 5

Now,

length of one part = 4x = 4 × 5 = 20 cm

and another part = 3x = 3 × 5 = 15 cm
