A 38-year old female lost a lot of blood during a difficult delivery, although the baby is delivered safely the obstetrician observes that there is no milk expression post-delivery. Upon further investigation the obstetrician informs the new mother that she has Sheehan syndrome where due to excessive bleeding the blood supply to the pituitary gland is lost and as a result pituitary gland is lost due to necrosis i.e death of tissues due to loss of blood supply. Looking at the above scenario, what possible other hormonal imbalances besides failure of lactation, can occur in this lady due to loss of pituitary gland and explain how it will affect her normal physiology?
