Area of shaded region is 41.24 cm^{2}

  • Given,

           Length of rectangle(l) = 3 cm

           Breadth of rectangle(b) = 3 cm

  • Area of rectangle is given by

               A_{1} = length x breadth

                    = 3 x 3

                    = 9 cm^{2}

  • Given,

           Radius of circle(r) = 4 cm

  • Area of circle is given by

                 A_{2} =\pi r^{2}

                      = \frac{22}{7}(4^{2})

                      = 3.14(16)

                      = 50.24 cm^{2}

  • Area of the shaded region = area of the circle - area of the rectangle

                                                     = 50.24 - 9

                                                      = 41.24 cm^{2}
