A 3m long ladder weighing 20kg leans on a frictionless wall. Its feet rest on the floor 1m frm the wall. Find the reaction forces of the wall & the floor.

one force is acting perpendicular to the wall. This creates a pivot action if the ladder falls down.
So the F2 force is resolved in two forces;
1»»»» that acts normal to the floor and the other which keeps it from falling that is opposite to the F1
for the ladder to be in vertical equilibrium the vertical forces should cancel out......
W- N = 0
Forces acting horizontally should cancel out.
So F- F1= 0
