15 is the cost for the first km then 8 is added for the second, then another 8 for the 3rd, etc.
therefore the cost for 3 km would be 15 + 8 + 8 = 15 + (3-1)8 = 31, cost for 4 km 15 + 8 + 8 +8 = 15 + (4-1)8 = 39, and so forth
if the total cost for X km is ₹Y, then:
y = 15 + (x-1)8
in standard form:
y = 15 + 8x - 8
8x - y + 15 - 8 = 0
[8x - y + 7 = 0]
therefore the cost for 3 km would be 15 + 8 + 8 = 15 + (3-1)8 = 31, cost for 4 km 15 + 8 + 8 +8 = 15 + (4-1)8 = 39, and so forth
if the total cost for X km is ₹Y, then:
y = 15 + (x-1)8
in standard form:
y = 15 + 8x - 8
8x - y + 15 - 8 = 0
[8x - y + 7 = 0]
