Explanation:

f1 = 12N

f2 = 4N

mass, m = 4 kg

acceleration =  \frac{f1 - f2}{m}

 =  \frac{12 - 4}{4}  =  \frac{8}{4} = 2 \: m {s}^{ - 2}   \: towards \: right
